“All of Kent’s four universities will be charging students £8,500 or more in tuition fees from 2012.
The University of Kent (UKC), Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), the University of Greenwich and the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) have had their tuition fees confirmed by the Government.
UKC will be charging all their students the maximum £9,000 for their degree courses, while CCCU and UCA will cost £8,500 each per year, while students at the University of Greenwich’s Medway campus will face fees of £8,300.
The substantial increase, from current levels of just about £3,500, comes as government funding for higher educational has been cut by 80 per cent.
